The Pike County Red 6U team recently placed runner-up at the USSSA All Star World Series in New Orleans, La.

After going a perfect 4-0 in pool play, the Red beat the Louisiana state champions 13-9 in the quarterfinals. They went on to defeat the Texas state champions 22-19 in extra innings to advance to the championship, where they fell to the Georgia state champions out of Walton, Ga. by a score of 14-8.

Most of the players on the team are from Pike County and Milner, but Rowan Basilici represents Thomaston.

The Pike County Red finished the tournament as runners-up with an 8-2 record.
