3 Seats to be Decided

Qualifying for the City of Thomaston Municipal General Election, which involves the mayor pro tempore and two district council seats, will be open from 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, according to a release from city officials.

The position of mayor pro tempore, the at-large council member, currently is held by Doug Head. District 3 councilman is Ryan Tucker and District 4 councilman is Don Greathouse. All three representatives will be elected to four-year terms.

Fee to qualify is $243 for mayor pro tempore and $216 for each council seat.

Early voting will begin at the Thomaston-Upson Civic Center on Tuesday, Oct. 12 and continue for three weeks from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, followed by Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2. Qualifying will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. daily the week of Aug. 16-20.
