As of Tuesday, Thomaston Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division had not ruled whether a man found dead Jan. 12 in a vehicle at a Veterans Drive apartment complex was the result of suicide or homicide, according to Chief Mike Richardson.
A black male was found dead in a parked car with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to a TPD report. CID personnel later opted to treat the case as a possible homicide, pending autopsy.
Chief Richardson said the department is treating the incident as a possible homicide as a precaution, allowing for further investigation pending a comprehensive autopsy report. The vehicle was placed in the TPD garage to preserve evidence.
