Tyler Jina, 28, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault last week after threatening members of his family and law enforcement with a sword, according to an Upson County Sheriff’s Office report.
Jina put the sword to his father’s neck and threatened to kill him, along with two other subjects in the residence, witnesses stated. The father told Sgt. Mike Rucker and Deputy Justin Shaw that Jina said he would kill law enforcement upon their arrival, according to the report.
UCSO personnel entered the home and found Jina still holding the sword. After verbal commands from law enforcement, Jina replaced the sword on the wall and was taken into custody without further incident.
According to witness statements, Jina broke dishes, kicked doors, broke a glass table, threw a chair, and punched holes in the walls. Statements said he tried to choke his father and said “he would kill everybody in the house.”
Along with aggravated assault (Family Violence Act), Jina was charged with felony terroristic threats and acts (FVA) and two misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and acts.
Other recent arrests and charges reported by UCSO include the following:
Zechariah Jay Givens – trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, or methamphetamine.
