Two victims were killed in a single-family dwelling fire Jan. 17 on Whitaker Road in Roberta, according to a release from the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Fire Safety.
The structure was a complete loss.
“Both victims, presumed to be the residents of the home, were recovered and sent to the [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] Crime Lab for autopsy and positive identification,” said Commissioner John F. King. “The area of origin was determined to be the living room of the structure, though the source is still under investigation. No foul play is expected at this time.”
