October is Fire Prevention Month. Follow these tips to keep your family safe during a fire emergency. Replace smoke detectors and batteries on daylight saving time days. Put together an escape plan with your family; mark two ways out of each room, check that escape routes are clear, and verify that doors and windows can easily be opened. Establish a meeting spot that is a safe distance away from the front of your house.
