Mrs. Marjorie Andrews Smith, age 101, of Marietta, formerly of Thomaston, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice in Marietta.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Smith were held Sunday, July 31, at Southview Cemetery, with Dr. Glenn Gilstrap officiating.
Mrs. Smith was born March 24, 1921, in Roberta, to the late William Andrews and Nell Wheless. She was a graduate of R.E. Lee Institute. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Smith had been employed as a financial controller and as an administrative assistant at the Bristol, Va. Chamber of Commerce.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar Smith, Sr.; and two brothers, William Andrews and Harvey Andrews.
Survivors include two sons, William Edgar (Laura M.) Smith, Jr. of Jasper and William Clinton Smith of Monroe, N.C.; six grandchildren: Courtney (Zach) Levin of Black Mountain, N.C., Andrew (Amelia) Smith of Concord, N.C., Will Smith of Charlotte, N.C., Lachlan Smith of Atlanta, Kelly (Matthew) Farrell of Durham, N.C., and Erin Smith of Denver, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren, Julian Farrell of Durham, N.C., Harlan Rose Levin of Black Mountain, N.C., and Landon Thomas Smith of Concord, N.C.
